제 15 품 낙품(樂品)

여전히 증오하는 사람들 가운데서, 증오 없는 우리
는 정말 행복하게 삽니다. 증오가 가득 찬 사람들
가운데서, 우리는 증오 없이 삽니다.
我等實樂生，憎怨中無僧。於僧怨人中，我等無憎住。
我們的確很安樂地活著。在眾怨恨之中，我們無怨無恨；在眾怨恨
者中，我們住於無怨無恨。
Very happily indeed we live, free of hatred amongst hateful.
Amongst hateful people we dwell without hatred.
Happy indeed we live who are free from hatred among those
who still hate. In the midst of hate-filled men, we live free
from hatred.

여전히 질병에 걸린 사람들 가운데서, 질병 없는 우
리는 정말 행복하게 삽니다. 질병에 걸린 사람들 가
운데서, 우리는 질병 없이 삽니다.
我等實樂生，疾病中無病。於疾病人中，我等無病住。
我們的確很安樂地活著。在眾病之中，我們無病患；在眾病患者中，
我們住於
無病。
Very happily indeed we live, healthy amongst diseased ones.
Amongst diseased people we dwell healthy.
Happy indeed we live who are free from disease among
those still diseased. In the midst of diseased men, we live
free from disease.

여전히 욕심내는 사람들 가운데서, 욕심 없는 우리
는 정말 행복하게 삽니다. 욕심내는 사람들 가운데
서, 우리는 욕심 없이 삽니다.
我等實樂生，貪欲中無欲。於貪欲人中，我等無欲住。
我們的確很安樂地活著。在眾貪欲之中，我們無貪無欲；在眾貪欲
者中，我們住於無貪無欲。（ 註：aturesu， atura「 病」是指道
德之病。）
Very happily indeed we live, without greed amongst greedy
ones. Amongst greedy people we dwell without greed.
Happy indeed we live who are free from worry among those
who are still worried. In the midst of worried men, we live
free from worry.

우리 자신의 것이 아무것도 없는, 우리는 정말 행복
하게 삽니
다. 우리는 광음천(光音天)의 천신(天神)처럼 기쁨을
먹으며 살 것입니다.
我等實樂生，我等無物障，我等樂為食，如光音天人。
我們的確很安樂地活著，無憂無慮地活著。如同光音天的梵天神般，
我們以喜悅為食。（註：nattbi kincanam「 無憂無慮」是指無貪
、無瞋及無痴。）
Very happily indeed we live, who have nothing whatsoever.
We will be feeding on joy, just like the Radiant Gods.
Happy indeed we live who have nothing of our own. We shall
feed on joy, just like the radiant devas.

승리는 증오를 낳고, 패배한 사람은 고뇌 속에 삽니
다. 그러나 승리와 패배 둘 다 버린, 마음이 적정(寂
靜)한 사람은 안락(安樂)하게 삽니다.
勝利生憎怨，敗者住苦惱。勝敗兩俱捨，和靜住安樂。
勝利者招來仇敵，戰敗者活在苦惱裡；捨棄勝敗的寂靜者，得以安
樂地過活。（註：upasanto「 寂靜者」是指已斷除煩惱的人。）
Victory produces hatred. Defeated one dwells in pain.
Tranquil one dwells happily, having renounced both victory
and defeat.
A victor only breeds hatred, while a defeated man lives in
misery, but a man at peace within lives happily, abandoning
up ideas of victory and defeat.

정욕과 같은 불은 없고, 분노와 같은 악(惡)은 없습
니다. 오온(五蘊)으로 이루어진 몸과 같은 고통은
없고, 유입되는 생각의 고갈(枯渴)보다 더 큰 즐거
움은 없습니다.
無火如貪欲，無惡如瞋恨，無苦如（五）蘊，無樂勝寂靜。
無火可比貪欲，無惡可比瞋恨，無苦可比五蘊，無樂可比寂靜。
（註：寂靜即是涅槃。）
There is no fire like passion. There is no evil like hatred.
There is no suffering like the Aggregates of existence.
There is no happiness higher than tranquility.
There is no fire like desire. There is no weakness like anger.
There is no suffering like the khandhas. There is no
happiness greater than peace.

베고픔은 가장 큰 병이고, 생각의 유입은 가장 큰
고통입니
다. 이 이치를 있는 그대로 아는 지혜로운 사람은,
열반이 최고의 즐거움임을 알게 됩니다.
飢為最大病，行為最大苦；如實知此已，涅槃樂最上。
飢餓是最大的疾病，諸行則是最苦。智者如實知見它們後，得證至
樂的涅槃。（註：sankhara「 諸行」是指五蘊。）
Hunger is the highest illness. Conditioned things are the
highest suffering. Having known this as it is, Nirvana is the
highest happiness.
Hunger is the supreme disease. Mental activity is the
supreme suffering. When one has grasped this as it really is,
nirvana is the supreme happiness.

건강은 다시없는 소득이고, 지족(知足)은 다시없는
부(富)입니다. 신뢰할 수 있는 친구는 다시없는 친
척이고, 열반은 다시없는 즐거움입니다.
無病最上利，知足最上財，信賴最上親，涅槃最上樂。
健康是最大的利益，知足是最大的財富，可信任的朋友是最親的親
人，涅槃是
至上的寂樂。
Health is the highest gain. Contentment is the highest wealth.
Trusted people are the best relatives. Nirvana is the highest
happiness.
Health is the supreme possession. Contentment is the
supreme wealth. A trustworthy friend is the supreme
relation. Nirvana is the supreme
happiness.

독거(獨居)의 맛과 적정(寂靜)의 맛을 즐기고 난 후
에, 진리[법]의 맛을 즐기면서, 괴로움과 악에서 벗
어납니다.
已飲獨居味， 以及寂靜味，喜飲於法味，離怖畏去惡。
得嚐獨處與寂靜之味後， 飲法悅者得以無畏無惡。（註：寂靜即是
涅槃。）
Having drunk the nectar of solitude and the nectar of
tranquility, one is free of fear and free of evil, drinking the
nectar of the joy of Dharma.
After enjoying the taste of solitude and the taste of peace,
one is freed from distress and evil, as one enjoys the taste
of spiritual joy.

성자들과 만나는 것은 좋은 일입니다. 그들과 함께
사는 것은 항상 즐겁습니다. 어리석은 사람을 만나
지 않으면, 사람은 언제나 안녕(安寧)할 수 있습니
다.
善哉見聖者，與彼同住樂。由不見愚人，彼即常歡樂。
得見聖者是很好的，與他們相處常安樂；不見愚人亦是常安樂。
Good is seeing the Noble ones; association with them is
always happy. By not seeing fools one would always be
happy.
It is good to meet with the saints. Living with them is always
sweet. By not meeting fools one can be happy all the time.

어리석은 사람을 사귀는 사람은, 그것 때문에 오래
동안 괴로움을 받을 것입니다. 어리석은 사람과 함
께 사는 것은, 적과 함께 사는 것처럼, 항상 괴롭습
니다. 그러나 지혜로운 사람과 함께 사는 것은, 친
척들의 모임처럼, 항상 즐겁습니다.
與愚者同行，長時處憂悲。與愚同住苦，如與敵同居。與智者同住，
樂如會親族。
與愚人同行者必會長期苦惱。與愚人相處常是苦，如與仇敵共生共
活；與智者相處常是樂，如與親人共生共活。
One who lives together with fools will suffer for a long time.
The company of fools is always painful - like the company
of an enemy. And a wise one is pleasant to live with, like
meeting with relatives.
A man who keeps company with a fool, will suffer for it a
long time. It is always painful to live with fools, like with an
enemy, but a wise man is good to live with, like meeting up
with relatives.

그러므로 만일 그가 이해력과 통찰력이 있고, 배움
이 있으며, 계율을 지키고, 정진하며, 고결하다면,
이렇게 올바르고 지혜로운 사람을 따라가야 합니다.
달이 별들의 길을 따라 가듯이.
是故真實：賢者智者多聞者，持戒虔誠與聖者，從斯善人賢慧遊，
猶如月從於星道。
因此，人們應跟隨智者、慧者、多聞者、持恆者及盡責的聖者；跟
隨這樣的善智者，如同月亮順著星道而行。
Therefore: Clever and wise and learned, virtuous, devout
and noble - associate with such a smart true person, just
like the moon follows the path of the stars.
Therefore, if he is a man of understanding and penetration,
learned and habitually moral, devout and noble, one should
cultivate the company of that just and wise man, in the same
way as the moon keeps to a path among the stars.
